Since 1971, Pearl S. Buck International has been improving the lives of children through its Child Sponsorship Program in Vietnam.
The program betters the quality of life and expands opportunities for children who live in orphanages in and around Hanoi and are deprived of their basic needs as a result of marginalization due to discrimination or economic circumstances beyond their control.
The assistance children receive through the Child Sponsorship Program not only supports their health and education but also kindles the spirit of hope and possibility.
Your journey through the Mekong will include a Pearl S. Buck International host.
There will be a post-cruise opportunity to visit the children whose lives have been impacted by the generous donations of the
Pearl S. Buck International sponsors.
See Cruise Itinerary for more information on this Post-Cruise Opportunity.
A portion of the sale of each Cruise Booking goes to support the important efforts of the Pearl S. Buck International organization.

This journey along the Mekong unveils a lively tapestry of life on its banks.
The river cruise from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to Siem Reap, Cambodia begins with a Welcome Dinner while cruising to Cai Be.
On the second day, travelers visit local workshops such as ricepaper-making and candy making in Cai Be and explore Sa Dec, a town known for its historical ties to French writer Marguerite Duras. Highlights include visits to the local market and the unique Cao Dai Temple, which represents a fusion of multiple religious traditions.
The third day brings an authentic cultural experience in Tan Chau with a trishaw ride and visits to silk and rattan workshops. Alternatively, guests can explore the Tra Su Forest and Sanctuary, a biodiverse area rich in flora and fauna.
The cruise then crosses the border into Cambodia, reaching Phnom Penh by day four. In Phnom Penh, travelers visit the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, and the National Museum. An afternoon excursion to the Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng S21 detention center provides a sobering look at Cambodia's history, followed by a performance of Khmer folk dancing on the ship.
Days five through seven continue with a variety of cultural experiences in Cambodia. In Oudong, a former royal capital, guests participate in a Buddhist Blessing Ceremony. A visit to Oknhatey, known for its silk weaving, and a walking tour of Angkor Ban, one of the few villages untouched by the Khmer Rouge, highlight traditional Cambodian life. The cruise concludes in Kampong Cham with a visit to Wat Nokor, an ancient temple complex.
The journey ends with a transfer to Siem Reap after a festive Farewell Dinner on board.
