This springtime river cruise through Holland and Belgium begins in Amsterdam, where travelers can explore the city’s classic architecture, cafés, and vibrant culture before setting sail.
Perfect for garden lovers, the journey features onboard lectures from a botany expert, as well as a stop at the breathtaking Keukenhof, or “Garden of Europe,” with 70 acres of vibrant flowering bulbs.
Along the route, visit Rotterdam’s bustling harbor, Antwerp’s historic diamond district, and Ghent, where a guided tour highlights St. Baaf’s Cathedral. The cruise continues to Middelburg, showcasing Gothic architecture and historic charm, before concluding back in Amsterdam with a scenic canal cruise along elegant, Golden Age homes.

Embark on a Springtime Journey through the Canals and Waterways of Holland and Belgium
The river cruise begins in Amsterdam where you may choose to join a Guided Excursion to beautiful Zaanse Schans where you’ll see a wonderful collection of well-preserved historic windmills and Dutch houses. Conclude your day with a Welcome Dinner.
On the second day, travelers will have the opportunity to access Amsterdam’s secret gardens hidden behind the brick façades – a unique opportunity as they are normally closed to public. Or, you may choose to discover Aalsmeer Flower Auction—the largest in the world, where around 20 million flowers are sold every day.
The third day join a full- or half-day Guided Tour of breathtaking Keukenhof—known as the “Garden of Europe”—for its 70 acres of lush parkland, lakes, and the world’s largest flower gardens—with more than seven million tulips, daffodils and hyacinths as well as other bulbs, planted each year.
Explore Brussels, considered home to the European Union, with a local licensed guide and admire its magnificent palaces and cathedrals. If you are a garden lover, you can continue your experience and visit a Communal Garden in the area. Onboard, join your garden expert for a botany lecture onboard.
Explore Ghent—“The Diamond of Flanders”—with a Guided Sightseeing Tour of this showcase of medieval Flemish wealth. You’ll visit St. Bavo’s Cathedral—with its remarkable Flemish artwork.
Join a guided walking tour through the winding cobblestones and canals of Middelburg.
See Willemstad’s Windmills and Historic Harbor, and later in the day enjoy a cheese tasting on board as you prepare to sail to Amsterdam. Join another botany lecture to learn about the nature in the country you are visiting.
The journey ends in Amsterdam.
